After you left me
My heart turned to broken glass
Shattered in pieces
After you left me

Inspiration
My inspirations, having run amuck
In the confines of my mind, desired a release
In paper form or at least typed out,
To be viewed on screen by unknown faces.
At last decided:
With a pack of taytos,
Two chocolate biscuits and a cup of tea,
I settled down to write.
Three hours later all I had written was this poem.

A dry wind blew, hot and dusty, over the plain.
Forks of lightning flowered in the far-off storm clouds.
Near clouds were mere cut-outs on the face of the sky.

Stinging sand-clouds. Shadows shifted over the plain.
Forks of lightning, dry and distant, came no closer,
But, with no sound, flowered in the far-off storm clouds.

And if I be a fool, at least I can be a fool in love, with you. I watch you dance and sing. A man of heart, such heart, for the sons that turn you down, and even pummel you to the ground. You fight on, and love, to the death. Do they even care; do they see you at all? If they don't, I still do.
Your heart is won out for them as any heart could ever be won, and then it goes beyond. You'd die a trillion deaths for just one of their hearts, in fact, you already have. The blood that was spilled, why, it was terrifying to see. No wonder they call you crazy. You're as mad as can be, and all for what, love?
